Research Overview

The Cranberry Innovation Center (CIC) serves as a hub for cranberry research, collaboration, and innovation. Researchers from across the University of Wisconsin system, the USDA Agricultural Research Service, and private industry partners conduct studies that address current challenges and future opportunities for Wisconsin’s cranberry industry.

The CIC provides a unique research environment where scientists can conduct projects that may be difficult to implement on commercial marshes due to logistical, economic, or environmental constraints. Research conducted at the CIC is designed to generate objective, science-based information that helps growers improve efficiency, adopt sustainable management practices, and strengthen the long-term success of the cranberry industry.

CIC research is guided by collaboration between researchers, growers, WCREF board members, and staff to ensure projects remain relevant, practical, and aligned with industry priorities.
